Homemade Texas launches

September 1, 2021 – Kelley Masters, founder of the Texas cottage food law movement and local foods proponent since 2007, has announced the formation of Homemade Texas, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to supporting home independence and entrepreneurship. Homemade Texas will give homemakers, homesteaders, and entrepreneurs a presence and voice in Texas policy making. The organization will initially focus on expanding the existing cottage food law, and legislation allowing Texans the ability to raise a small number of backyard hens to enhance independence and food security. Educating members about the political process and promoting grassroots civic engagement will be core to the organization’s mission. Memberships are inexpensive and tailored for small business owners and homemakers. Join the Homemade movement today!
