Hey, I’m Laurel — a California girl who found her home (and heart) in Tomball, Texas.
Anyone who knows me would describe me as warm and patient. I enjoy bringing that warmth to my kitchen through artisan made sourdough and beautiful custom decorated cookies. I have keen taste buds, a skilled eye and caring hands all of which are ingredients in my recipe to success.
Although I’m known to most as their local small-batch home baker, I’m also a proud Marine wife, loving Dachshund mom and Rodeo Houston volunteer. When I’m not baking, I also have a full time job in marketing and development for a statewide non-profit. This is why I value quality over quantity and will only do small-batch cookies and sourdough. As you can tell, I have a lot on my plate, I mean counter, but I love the challenge.
My love of artisan baking has only grown as an instructor. I love watching groups of friends, teams and neighbors come together in an intimate setting where I can share my passion and expertise with each of my students. Whether you’re eating one of my baked goods at a table filled with loved ones or attending one of my classes, I strive at making Laurel Bakes a place of community and comfort.
